Tent

On monday I leave for Sjoa river festival. One week of fun and staying in a tent. My tent is worn out, think I've had it for 12 years! Wish I had this one! Would probably get me some attention :)

All at once...

With my new found energy I´ve started to many projects at once! So nothing is finished so I can post it here... But I´ll share a glimpse of what I´m working on :)

This week I´m trying to get Jojo´s room done. She has outgrown the pink and green room, and wanted it inspired by surfing! I´ve cut out shapes of surfboards and painted Hawaii-roses. The colors are blue, turquoise, orange and purple, Jojo´s choices.

In my grandparents barn I found a wonderful chair, a ERO nr24. Here is the before picture. Not much more remains before it´s done, just have to paint the legs.

The big dish I wrote about here has a new color. I just need to get some good picks of it, and then I´ll show you.

I'm back!

What a year! Not in a good way... Well, maybe, cause things have gotten a lot better since last spring. I have been fighting a depression. Saving all my energy for my daughter at first, then a bit for work as well.

Now I'm back working full-time! Feels good, but I do miss working out in the morning... I put everything I didn't have to do on hold. The apartment became a mess! Now I'm trying to sort through things and papers, washing walls and ceilings.

The other day I suddenly WANTED to start a DIY-project! And then I remembered my blog. It must be a sign that I'm getting better!

Spent the day at work looking through blogs that I used to follow regularly, feeling the inspiration! Need to go shopping!! Good thing the tax-refund is due this week :)

The Bed!

Finally the bed is done!

My daughter needed a bigger bed and more storage. I had exactly 2 meters from wall to wall and all beds I could find where 2 m + 4 cm, 6 cm, 7 cm... So I decided to build one! I had some leftover wood from building my terrace, and I like to use whatever I have at hand.

 The front is made of drawers from IKEA Stuva with these fronts. The room has a lot of color, and I wanted something that she will find ok as she grows.

We are both really happy with the result! Although Jojo´s favorite thing about it is that she can play under it ;)

TTT

Ting Tar Tid... Min stemor (hater det ordet, men i mangel av noe bedre...) sa alltid det når jeg var liten og var utålmodig (hvilket jeg fortsatt er :P). Akkurat nå tenker jeg på hvor lang tid det tar å bli bra og bygge opp overskudd igjen. Og hvor lang tid det tar å ferdigstille prosjekter!

Things Takes Time (bad translation, but has to be that way to fit with the 3 t´s)... My stepmum (hate that word, but i don´t have a better one...) always said that when I was little and impatient (which I still am :P). Right now I´m thinking about how much time it takes to get well and build up the energilevel again. And how much time it takes to finish projects!

Jojo er skolejente nå, og det krevde noen endringer på rommet hennes. Plass til bøker, mer oppbevaring og større seng var hovedpunktene. De neste innleggene blir om dette!

Jojo started school, and that demanded some changes in her room. Space for books, more storage and a bigger bed where the main points. The next posts will be about that!

Men, som jeg sa tar ting tid... Sengen er NESTEN ferdig. Mangler en list og litt malig, og jeg har ikke lyst til å vise den før den er heeeelt ferdig! Men her er et lite glimt av hva jeg brukte :)

But, as I said, things take time... The bed is ALMOST done. Missing a board and some pain, I don´t want to show it till it´s all finished! But here is a small glimpse of what I used :)

Fluktstoler

Her er fluktstolene mine! Som sagt fant jeg dem på låven til besteforeldrene mine. Treverket er i god stand, men det var ikke stoffet!

Here are my recliners! As I said, I found them in my grandparents barn. The wood is in good condition, but the fabric was not!

Det var ikke vanskelig i det hele tatt å sette på nytt stoff! Måte bare etter det gamle, klippet og festet. Stoffet er fra Stoff og Stil. Så kraftig vevet at jeg ikke har sydd noe.

It was easy to put on new fabric! Measured after the old one, cut and fitted. No sawing necessary! Fabric from Stoff og Stil.

Tøff sommer

Det er en stund siden jeg har fått lagt ut noe. Denne sommeren har vært pyton, preget av sykdom og dødsfall. Men nå tror jeg at jeg er på vei tilbake, og at jeg orker å delta i livet mer enn jeg har gjort de siste månedene.

It´s been a while since I posted something. This summer has been crappy, with sickness and deaths. But I think I´m on my way back now, that I have energy to participate in life more than I have the past months.

Må bare vise vasen min igjen! Synes det var så flott med peoner i den.

Nå har jeg et lite prosjekt på gang, trekker om noen gamle fluktstoler jeg fant på låven til besteforeldrene mine. De skal ut i hagen, som er så godt som ferdig!

I have a small project going now, putting new fabric on some old recliners I found in my grandparents barn. They are going out in the garden, which is as good as finished!
